Protection Against HPV – Free Vaccination Offer for Everyone Under 30!
In recent years, awareness of the risks of HPV infection has increased significantly, and that’s a good thing: Most sexually active people will be infected with human papillomavirus (HPV) at least once in their lifetime. Depending on the virus type, different diseases can develop, including genital warts and various types of cancer.
For effective prevention, it is crucial that as many sexually active people as possible build better protection against HPV infections through the HPV vaccine. With vaccination, you are not only protecting yourself but also everyone you have sexual contact with.
In Austria, the HPV vaccine is free for all individuals up to their 21st birthday. Until the end of this year, it is also available free of charge for all individuals up to their 30th birthday as part of a catch-up program. For this age group, two doses of the vaccine are required, administered six to nine months apart. After the age of 30, three doses are necessary.
An overview of all nationwide HPV vaccination programs, as well as relevant information about the vaccine, can be found on this website: https://impfen.gv.at/impfungen/hpv.
